I've always wondered what having depression is like, so I tried to put my understanding of it into words.
It’s difficult to explain. You don’t know why, or how, all you know is sadness. It’s in the depths of your heart, the furthest reaches of your soul, embedded in your gut. It’s like a black hole, sucking the light out of your life. It’s a physical thing; you can fell its weight, its presence. It’s like a rainy day; there are sunny days as well. But more often than not, it’s raining. And it doesn't rain water, but fear, anxiety, sadness. And the rainy periods seem to last longer and longer until they run together into one big rain day and the only way to deal with it is to just
